What sort of people train at the club?

Most work within the Square Mile (strangely enough, in IT usually). There are several students from City University. And there are a few random nurses, journalists, brickies, writers, and photographers thrown in for good measure.

The gender ratio is almost 50–50 (varying with who’s training at a particular session) and most students are in their 20s or early 30s.

Training times and prices are here.

Generally, it takes about three or four months of training once or two times a week to advance between belts at the lower grades; at higher grades, you'll need be training at least twice a week for six months to a year. In fact, there's a mandatory period of training time between purple and light blue, light blue and dark blue, dark blue and brown and brown and black of between six months and two years, depending on the belt. To get to black, you'll need to have run a club as a brown belt for at least two years.
