Te-guruma (hand wheel)

A rare throw, and one most Jitsuka often confuse with sukui-nage. To execute the throw, you pick up the attacker turn him round in mid-air to point head downwards, then drop him.

It's popular with stronger Jitsuka because it requires more strength than most throws, but is devestatingly effective if done right.

Here is a list of most of the techniques you'll need to know for Jitsu and at what level you'll meet them. The list is not completely definitive because modern Judo is creating many more throws, some of which Jitsuka are adapting for their own use.

Where we train

City Jitsu Club trains twice a week near Angel and the Barbican, London, EC1, at City University, Northampton Square, Islington.

Training times
Monday: 7.30pm–9pm
Friday: 7pm–9pm
