Sukui-nage (backward spoon throw)

| Print this page |

Also known as the ‘scooping throw’. You put a hand between the attacker's legs, grab them by their rear, and while levering them up, push them back over you knee at the same time. It's possible to balance them on your hip at the midpoint, if you want.

If real-life situations, you’d grab something more delicate than their rear.

Full list
Here is a list of most of the techniques you'll need to know for Jitsu and at what level you'll meet them. The list is not completely definitive because modern Judo is creating many more throws, some of which Jitsuka are adapting for their own use.
