Ko-tsuri-komi-goshi (minor lifting drawing hip throw)

| Print this page |

Occasionally described as just ko-tsuri-goshi, ko-tsuri-komi-goshi is similar to o-goshi, but rather than scooping under the shoulder, you wrap your arm round uke's waist, using that to pull him over your hips. While less powerful than o-goshi, it's useful for smaller jitsuka as an alternative to o-goshi when it would be difficult, if not impossible, to get their arm in the correct position on a much taller jitsuka. Taller Jitsuka trying o-goshi on a much smaller Jitsuka can use o-tsuri-komi-goshi instead.

Full list
Here is a list of most of the techniques you'll need to know for Jitsu and at what level you'll meet them. The list is not completely definitive because modern Judo is creating many more throws, some of which Jitsuka are adapting for their own use.
