Kani-basami (crab scissors)

| Print this page |

A sacrifice technique in which you jump in to an attack and, placing your legs either side of the attacker’s body, scissor his or her balance away.

Common mistakes: Many Jitsuka come in either too high or too low on the attacker. The result is that they don't scissor him in the right place and they are left dangling from him. Which looks silly.

Full list
Here is a list of most of the techniques you'll need to know for Jitsu and at what level you'll meet them. The list is not completely definitive because modern Judo is creating many more throws, some of which Jitsuka are adapting for their own use.
